When disasters occur in our project areas, Changing Lives Nepal reliably responds with additional support.

The extreme geography of Nepal is particularly susceptible to natural disaster, and the infrastructure and government programs in Nepal are limited in their ability to support people in need. CLN has provided targeted relief in our project areas, including:

  • Distribution of rice, roofing, and toilet supplies to carry people through the summer after the massive 7.9 earthquake destruction in 2015.
  • Immediate funds to build an emergency retaining wall during extraordinary flooding in 2021, effectively saving school classrooms from being washed away by persistent flood waters.
  • Safe reconstruction and repair of school classrooms damaged both by earthquakes and by extreme flooding.
  • Facilitation and development of a large-scale infrastructure project to bring water to drought-stricken land, enabling farmers to save their dying farms.
  • Oxygen and PPE supplies for remote rural hospitals overwhelmed during the COVID pandemic.

Emergency relief is not a part of our mission, but inherent in our humanitarian efforts to change and improve lives. We respond to and support our project communities when disasters arise.
